As a student, you are an ambassador of our school, and your conduct in daily life should embody the core values of respect, discipline, and integrity.

We ask that you always:

  • Conduct yourself in a way that brings honor to your academy, peers, and instructors.

  • Uphold the values of sportsmanship, humility, and community both on and off the mat.

Respect and Conduct

  • Black Belt Lifestyle: Act with honor and integrity at all times.

  • Community Mindset: Treat our academy as your Jiu-Jitsu home and your peers as your Jiu-Jitsu family.

  • Training Focus: This is not a place for dating. We are here to train.

  • No Ego: Respect your teammates. Help create a safe and supportive environment.

  • Coaching Etiquette: Do not coach anyone with a higher belt rank than yours.

  • Instruction Time: Sit or stand with good posture when instructors are teaching.

Hygiene and Appearance

  • Cleanliness: Maintain a clean body, clean gi, and clean rash guards.

  • Gear: Ensure your gi is in good condition and your belt is properly tied.

  • Nails: Keep your fingernails and toenails clipped.

  • No Fragrance or Makeup: Avoid perfumes, colognes, makeup, and fake eyelashes during training.

  • Jewelry: Remove all jewelry before class.

Safety and Etiquette

  • Mats:

    • Bow when entering and leaving the mat area.

    • Tap early, tap often – prioritize your safety and your teammates' safety.

  • Infection Control: Be mindful of skin irritations or infections. Check-in with the instructor if you have any concerns.

  • Shoe Policy:

    • Wear shoes in the bathroom and when off the mat.

    • No shoes on the mat.

  • No Food or Electronics on the Mat: Keep the training area clean and distraction-free.

Punctuality and Preparedness

  • Be On Time: Punctuality is encouraged.

  • Stay Prepared: Bring all necessary gear and be ready to train.

Our Right to Refuse Training

We reserve the right to refuse Jiu-Jitsu instruction to anyone.
